Community Network for Manchester Steering Group

Manchester's Community Network is a network of voluntary and community groups from across Manchester working to influence Manchester's Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) which is developing a Local Strategic Plan to address poverty in the city and to distribute Neighbourhhod Renewal Funding (NRF)

“The Community Network for Manchester is the key network of networks, linking together neighbourhoods and areas of the city with communities of common interest and concern, in order to release our people power in shaping the future of the city.”

Manchester's Community Network is working to achieve the following objectives:

  • To link together groups, organisations and networks across Manchester,
  • To facilitate discussion about policy and strategy issues across the city,
  • To select voluntary and community sector ‘representatives’ on the Local Strategic Partnership and other key bodies and make sure they are held accountable to the rest of the sector,
  • To open up communication channels between groups and organisations in the voluntary and community sector to share experience and ideas,
  • To make sure that those normally excluded are given a full opportunity to participate,
